| ArchivesJuly 14, 2009I made a new version of my Ship DM game. It will soon be available for Xbox 360. 1337 Ship Deathmatch1337 Ship Deathmatch is a top down mutliplayer shooter for Xbox 360. It is sort of like the classic game asteroids but without the asteroids and the players try to destroy each other instead. Features
February 12, 2009I made a program that takes m3u playlists from Winamp and other media players and creates mp3 cd's with the music and playlist. It can also be used to copy music to your mp3 player, make an mp3 DVD, or just organize your music on your hard drive. Download m3u Converter.
August 19, 2008I made a javascript that sets all youtube videos to high quality. To use it with Opera first download and extract it somewhere on your computer. Then in Opera go to youtube.com and right click on any blank white space then select "Edit site preferences..." from the right click menu. Next click the "Scripting" tab and select "Choose" at the bottom to browse for the folder you just unzipped the script to. Now whenever you play a youtube video it will use the high quality settings which look makes the video much crisper and uses stereo audio. Download youtube high quality javascript. For an example of the difference using the high quality setting makes check out this video in standard quality versus it in high quality. If you have the high quality script already enabled it will automatically enable high quality so you will not be able to compare them. January 25, 2008Strange bug found on Mars. September 17, 2007Bioshock PC Review: 6/10 The gameplay sucks and the controls are even worse. Everything else is well done. But gameplay is what makes a game and this game just isn't fun. May 4, 2007I now have a nicer ShipDM game made in C++ and OpenGL for Windows. I may add more to it but the basic game is essentially done. You can download it here. March 26, 2007I updated my unreal levels site's interface. It now uses transparent png images now like the rest of my sites. Of course IE6 does not properly display transparent png's. Hopefully you are least upgraded to IE7 or using Firefox or Opera instead. I also updated my marathon runner game page the same way. I also made a page for my ShipDM game. February 28, 2007I modified the forum a bunch to stop bots from posting and registering. I also modified some stuff to make it even harder for them to farm displayed email addresses. I also changed the navigation bars that appear on the forum to be the same as on the homepage. February 15, 2007The forum is back up now. It is upgraded and stuff. January 23, 2007I made a harder version of the single player Ship DM game. The only changes are to the AI. The AI now attempts to predict where you are going and lead its shots accordingly. It is much harder to win compared to the previous AI. I hope to work on making the AI even better for another version. 640 800 1024 1280w 1600 1920w 3600w January 19, 2007There is a single player version of Ship DM with artificial intelligence to play against. The controls are the up arrow for thrust, left and right arrows for turning, the down arrow for break, and space bar for shoot. The AI won't shoot you until you move. Until you move it shoots just above the nose of your ship. Since not everyone has the same desktop resolution I have a few different sizes to choose from. Pick a lower number than your horizontal resolution so you can see the whole playing field. 640 800 1024 1280w 1600 1920w 3600w
January 14, 2007I have updated the ship death match game again. Ships expload now. Controls are the same as before. Arrows and space bar for player one, AWSD is movement and 1 is shoot for player 2. 640 800 1024 1024w 1600 1920w 3600w December 29, 2006The official forums of 1337 pwnage are down for a while because I'm upgrading them. Here are some pictures of a Nirnroot I found out in the wildness to keep you occupied in the meantime. December 18, 2006The servers were being upgraded for my web site which is why it has been down the past day or so. I improved the ship death match game a bit. Controls are the same as before. Arrows and space bar for player one, AWSD and 1 for player 2. I may eventually get around to adding a link to it on the navigation bars. 640 800 1024 1024w 1600 1920w 3600w December 16, 2006I'm making a asteroids-ish death match game. It isn't finished yet but you can test it out. There are a few different sizes to choose from, you want to pick one small enough so that it fits inside of your screen. Player 1's controls are the arrows for movement and space bar for shoot. Player 2's controls are AWSD for movement and 1 for shoot. 640 800 1024 1024w 1600 1920w 3600w
November 17, 2006I updated the navigation images on the sides. Since IE7 supports transparent png files along with opera, firefox, and every other browser no one should have any problems. If you don't have IE7 and are still using an older version not only are you a nub but you are behind in your Windows XP updates and your computer is going to splode from hax0rz. November 14, 2006Gears of War is awesome. I've only played a little bit of the single player which is pretty good but the multiplayer is the best there is. It is rounds based similiar to how counter-strike works, but there are still weapons on the map just like in typical first person shooters such as Halo, Quake, and Unreal. It is a third person shooter and you can interact with the environment to cover. Most of the games are 4 versus 4 and teamplay plays a huge part in the game. Just go pick up a copy of GoW asap, if you don't already have an Xbox 360 get one of those too. November 4, 2006The new Halo book came out a few days ago. Ghosts of Onyx is by Eric Nylund who also wrote the first and third Halo books. They are awesome books and any fan of science fiction should check them out. I made a couple new desktop backgrounds you can download too. October 25, 2006Firefox 2 is out. It basically just copies more of Opera's features but it is decent. It seems to be better than IE7. October 23, 2006I made a few desktop backgrounds you can download. Just click the thumbnails to bring up the big picture. Right click to set as your desktop background. October 19, 2006Internet Explorer 7 is out. It is better than the previous versions of IE and finally supports transparent png pictures as you can see in the screenshot. Like Firefox 1.5 for the most part it just attempts to copy the features of Opera web browser. IE7 has tabs and a bunch of security enhancements to protect nubs. October 6, 2006Mass X made this hilarious comic about the console wars. Click on the thumbnail to check it out. September 27, 2006Microsoft just announced Halo Wars, a real time strategy game for xbox 360. You can download the CG trailer on the Halo Wars web site. They also announced that there will be another Halo game Peter Jackson will be helping create but did not give details. September 14, 2006It has just been announced that the Nintendo Wii will be released on November 19th for $249 in the United States. It will release on December 2nd in Japan.
August 29, 2006The Sound Blaster X-Fi is an amazing sound card. Listening to music and movies with the 24-Bit Crystalizer is just awesome. August 13, 2006Here are my new headphones and mouse. The mouse is a Logitech G7 wireless laser. It tracks at 2000 dpi which is a huge jump over my old mouse's 800 dpi. It makes aiming in games a lot easier. I tested it out with Unreal Tournament 2004 Instagib and did almost twice as good as with my old mouse. The battery lasts for about 8 hours before you have to eject it and pop in the other one. It comes with 2 batteries. The receiver also charges the batteries. When you run out you eject the battery like a gun clip and slip a new one in. It only takes a few seconds to reload. The new headphones I got are the Sennheiser HD 205. The sound quality is excellent throughout the whole range of human hearing. They even came with a nice bag to carry them in. August 10, 2006I just got all of the parts for the new computer I'm building except the processor. I'll have pictures and descriptions up later.
July 30, 2006I got a new monitor. It is a ViewSonic VX922. It has a 2 ms response time which makes it the fastest LCD. It improved my Unreal Tournament 2004 instagib game quite a bit, even over my previous CRT's 120 hz refresh rate. Xbox 360 also looks amazing in High Definition with the VGA adapter. Here are a few pictures. July 17, 2006I just finished Prey's single player game. So far it is the best game ever. I haven't played much multiprey yet but I definetly will be. July 14, 2006I finished Marathon Runner 100,000. You can play it and be the first to get on the high scores. You can also view all of the Marathon Runner games at the MR main page. My next java game will be a reflex testing game. More on that later. July 13, 2006I've been working on a main page for my Marathon Runner games. So far only the 500 is available but I'll have the other games playable with high scores soon. I'll probably do the 100,000 race next. The older downloadable versions of Marathon Runner on on that page too. I'll probably make a Marathon Runner navigation button for my site while I'm at it. Prey is still fxing awesome but not as good as Marathon Runner. I thought up a sweet idea for an Unreal Tournament modification or mutator and might work on that when I get some time. I've also been practicing dunking and might make a video or something. I might also start some sort of Artist of the Month type thing like they do on xbox live, but I won't have any HD music videos to download I'll just have a little explanation or tribute or something like that. July 11, 2006I picked up my copy of Prey and have been playing it today. It just might be the best game ever. I got it for the PC, but it is also available for xbox 360. You can download the demo at Prey.com for PC or on the xbox live marketplace if you are skeptical. Eventually I may decide to make some maps or mods for Prey but for now I'm just enjoying the game. Oh, and Marathon Runner 100k is on it's way. July 10, 2006Marathon Runner 500 is done and ready to play. Since it is a java applet you don't need to download anything you just need a java enabled web browser. You can play the game here and view the fastest times here. I'll be working on the other race lengths and they will be playable soon. July 9, 2006I worked on Marathon Runner some more. I have a playable version of the 500 done. It even keeps online high scores for the fastest times. I'll put it on the site soon and will be working on the different races. June 27, 2006I am making the applet version of Marathon Runner. You will be able to play it using any java enabled web browser. It will link up with the forum database so you can put in your username and password and get on the high scores. The setup is much better than the previous beta versions. The player actually runs along the course and times are kept to the exact millisecond. I haven't decided on the race length yet, there may be multiple race lengths. Feel free to discuss in the forum.
June 19, 2006I recently discovered the web comic Dr. McNinja and it's fxing hillarious. Everyone should check it out. It is updated on mondays, wednesdays, and fridays. June 18, 2006Prey day is in 4 day son June 22. The Prey demo will be released on the internet for PC users to download and on the Xbox Live Market place for xbox 360 users to download. It might possibly be be the best game ever. Giive it a download. I've been extremely busy lately so haven't been able to update much. I managed to update the xbox how-to site though. I explained more on how to create and xbox and xbox 360 LAN party. June 7, 2006I am making a new java game. It will be simi liar to the classic asteroids game. So far I'm planning on having it be a one on one death match between a human player and the AI. I could make several game types. I haven't fully decided yet. I've been working on it incrementally one day at a time. I usually can only spend about an hour on it each day because of the massive demand for chairs this time of the year, but I'm still progressing quickly. As of now I have a ship you can move around using the arrow keys and the spacebar to shoot. I have acceleration built into the controls and the bullet physics react to how your ship is moving. As of now I'm keeping the graphics very simple and focusing on the programming, but who knows, perhaps I'll make a nice looking Unreal Engine 3 version when I get the tools. May 26, 2006There is a new site called 360 voice. If you have an xbox 360 you can sign up and link your gamertag to it. Then the xbox 360 writes in a blog about the games you played. Mine is http://www.360voice.com/blog.asp?tag=locopollo May 15, 2006I updated the system specifications chart page for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and NIntendo Wii. May 9, 2006Halo 3 announcement trailer is out. Go to Bungie.net and download it. You can also get the HD version of the trailer on xbox live market place for xbox 360. April 29, 2006CTF-Dieseth and BR-Dieseth are finished. You can see screen-shots and download them at the UT2k4 Maps page or just download them at the UT2k4 downloads page. April 25, 2006I made a new page including links that I find useful. Among them are web sites with free software, news, and game sites. Also some good news is the next version of internet explorer will finally support transparent png files (something every other browser has done for over nearly ten years) so I don't have to change my eighty Ninja Life pages for all of you IE nubs. April 22, 2006I updated the look of the Unreal site and the forums. They look like this page now. I have been making some progress on my latest Unreal Tournament 2004 level. You can check out some screen shots on the unreal levels page. April 20, 2006The Ninja Life web site got a small update. By popular demand I have included instructions on how one can become a ninja. I plan on a slight update to the xbox how to site soon. April 19, 2006I updated the look of the main site. It looks a lot better in Internet Explorer now since I switched over to jpg's instead of png's. For those of you that live close to Austin, Minnesota there are starting to be a lot more Halo 2 xbox tournaments. There will be one Sunday, check out xboxh2t.com for details. April 10, 2006I'm working on a new Unreal Tournament 2004 Capture the Flag level. You check out my UT2k4 maps site for screen-shots and more details. April 4, 2006World of StarCraft was just a mean April Fools joke. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is an awesome game though. You can get it on xbox 360 or PC. April 2, 2006Blizzard is working on World of StarCraft (WoS). You can be zerg, protoss, terran and another secret race. It will be similiar to World of WarCraft (WoW) but with tons of improvements and the StarCraft universe. There will be multiple planets, you can use any of the vehicles, and you can even play the classic StarCraft RTS. read here March 16, 2006I updated the game politics web site. If you care about video games you should check out Video Game Voters and contact your senator. March 7, 2006Poop for Peace Day is April 14. "For there to be peace, there must be understanding. For there to be understanding, there must be a common ground. But the further the chasm deepens, the more fundamental to basic human nature the common ground has to be. " March 5, 2006I finished DM-Corn, another level for Unreal Tournament 2004. March 3, 2006I finshed two levels for Unreal Tournament 2004. They can be downloaded at Unreal Maps site. February 27, 2006I updated a few different sites including the specifications of the playstation 3 on the console wars site and the Ninja Life site. February 17, 2006I'm assembling a team to work on a Puyo Puyo total conversion mod for Unreal Tournament 2007. Head over to the site for more details.
February 14, 2006I've been pretty busy lately. I've had a lot to do for school and have been working on the Age of Muskets Civil War game using the Torque Shader Engine (TSE). I've been working on a Puyo Puyo Fever page. It has screen shots of all the menus and pretty much the whole game from PPF PC translated into English. The PC version is only in Japanese. The site is here, it isn't finished yet but it should be enough to get you through the game. Eventually I'll finish that and connect it with the games section I'm working on. I'll also have to make a button for the games page. Here is a sample of the fort wall I made for the civil war game. Of course that isn't finished yet. Right now it is just pure polygons and textures. I'll have to normal map it and do all that crazy stuff. February 3, 2006Added another page to my games section. I have a few Xbox 360 Xbox Live Arcade game reviews up. Marble Blast Ultra, Geometry Wars Evolved and Hexic HD are on there. I've also been fixing the links to the forums.
January 29, 2006I deleted the old forums and rebuilt the forums completely. I also made some minor changes to my other pages.
January 27, 2006Marble Blast was released on Xbox Live Arcade for Xbox 360 a few days ago. I've played it and its a blast, its the best xbox live arcade game on the 360. The high definition graphics are sharp and smooth. There are over 60 single player levels which play similar to the single player levels in Super Monkey Ball and the old Nintendo game Marble Madness. The multiplayer is awesome too. I highly recommend it. January 10, 2006I made a few new web pages. I have a page dedicated to Marathon Runner along with a games page explaining all of my gaming sites.
January 9, 2006Hillary Clinton, Lieberman and a few others are trying to pass a national law banning the sale of violent video games to minors. Perhaps they will realize it is unconstitutional when it gets struck down in the supreme court like the three other laws it is based on. December 31, 2005Happy new year. I'll be adding new pages soon. December 10, 2005I made a tutorial on how to make a paper throwing star. It is on my ninja life web site. Xbox Live Arcade and the Xbox live market place are awesome. There are several demos you can download onto your xbox 360 hard drive now. FIFA, Madden, Need for Speed, Kameo and a few more too. There are about 20 xbox live arcade games now. You can download either the trial version or pay to download the full version. They all have xbox live online scores and most of them can be played with multiple on one xbox 360 or over xbox live. Hopefully a version of Puyo Puyo will be available some time soon. December 3, 2005The video game restriction law in Illinois was ruled unconstitutional as expected. Ever heard of the First Amendment? I made a few more diagrams for setting up xbox 360 and xbox 1 LAN's. I also updated the system specifications chart for xbox 360.
December 1, 2005Xbox 360 is out. I got one and it pwns. If you don't have a high definition television I recommend getting the xbox 360 vga adapter so you can play on a computer monitor in high definition. I updated my xbox how-to site to include xbox 360 information. November 18, 2005Marathon Runner Beta 4 is available for download. There are separate high scores for each race now. You can also view the high scores without running a race. Please let me know if you find anything wrong with the game. November 16, 2005Marathon Runner Beta 3 is available for download. Now there is an online high scores. Right now there is only one scoreboard for every race so you might as well only run the 500. In the next update there will be seperate scores for each race. Instructions for installation and how to play are in the readme file. November 14, 2005Here is the list of the 18 Xbox 360 games that are coming out on November 22.
I'll be getting Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gothem Racing 3. November 13, 2005I updated the navigation bars on this site. I changed them all from symbols to pictures representing the web site being linked to. If you put your mouse over the image text appears above the image telling you what site it is. This should clear up any confusion. Internet explorer still doesn't know how to display png pictures properly so use Opera or Firefox. I also updated my Unreal Tournament 2004 web site. It now has a simi liar layout to this one. I'm about to start working with Electric Side Productions on making a standalone civil war first persons shooter game.
November 8, 2005If you want to know what is going on in the gaming politics world here is a nice article.
November 6, 2005Marathon Runner Beta 2 is now available for download. All you need to run it is the latest version of java, Java Runtime Environment Version 5.0 Update 5, which you can download here. For mac users there is a link at the bottom of that page. This game uses new features in java and will not run on any older versions of java. Beta 2 boasts customizable controls and selectable a wealth of race lengths. In the next version there will be an online scoreboard.
November 3, 2005A beta of my Marathon Runner game is available for download. Just unzip it then run the MarathonRunner Java Executable file. 8 and 9 move your legs. Right now the game has only stick figure graphics and isn't customizable, but I'm going to add photo realistic graphics and many customizable features.
October 29, 2005You can now download my Pong game. All you need to play it is java. You probably already have it but if you don't you can download it here. The pong game is pretty basic. Just use the mouse to move the paddle around and press the start button to add as many balls as you want.
October 25, 2005Quake 4 pwns.
October 8, 2005I updated my video game politics site a bunch. It should load a lot faster for people with slow internet. I finally switched it over to the LP logo and it looks a lot better all around. Well it looks like EA is screwing people over again. The PSP version of Madden 2006 freezes if you try to play franchise mode. EA responded with a "work around" which doesn't actually work, and gamers just have to live without franchise mode. When EA got the exclusive rights to the NFL they said it would help them make Madden the best NFL game. They were right. There are no other NFL games so it is the best. If you want to play a football game get ESPN NFL 2k5 and update the rosters. EA just had to settle a lawsuit for $15 million for not paying its employees for overtime. People need to stop complaining about Wal-Mart and start complaining about Electronic Arts.
October 5, 2005I've been too busy to update much. I changed the background color a little bit. NBA 2k6 looks amazing on Xbox 360. IGN has some videos and screen shots showing off the awesome graphics. Muscles are individually animated, there is an enhanced sweat system, light reflecting off the court onto the players, even the crowd looks amazing.
September 28, 2005Madden 06 is the worst football game ever. In fact it is so bad its in the top 10 worst sports games ever made. Possibly in the top 25 worst video games ever made. It is defiantly the worst game of the year. Players lose their helmet every other play. There are 5 injuries every game, and not just any injuries, we are talking injuries where the players are out for weeks. If your player does to well he gets injured. If you get too big of a lead or are moving the ball to fast you get an interception, a turnover, or a penalty. Any time you make a diving tackle it is a facemask penalty. Even though on the replay it shows the guy talking with his arms through the other guy's chest. I could just go on and on about how horrible Madden 06 is. Instead of balancing the game out from the source of things making it unbalanced they tried to just add extra things on to make it balanced overall. EA has the exclusive NFL license for the next 15 years, don't expect any better football games until then. I'll be making a montage of how shitty the game is. Expect it in a week or so.
September 22, 2005I changed the look around of this site again. I'm experimenting with some things so don't be surprised if you see a lot of changes on this site.
September 21, 2005ViewSonic is now selling 3 ms LCD monitors. That is currently the fastest response time for an LCD display. There is a 17" version and the vx924 19". These are the normal ratio at 1280x1024 resolution. I asked ViewSonic if they plan on making any wide screen monitors and they said they currently don't have any plans but probably will as wide screen becomes more popular. You can use their wide screen HDTV's with computers, and towards the end of the year they plan on having a 20" wide screen LCD HDTV. September 20, 2005The internet browser Opera is free now. It no longer has any advertisements and you don't even need to register. The new version even added integrated bit torrent downloading. Opera is by far the best web browser it leaves firefox and IE in the dust when it comes to speed. So I recommend you go download it right now. It is only 3.7 mb download, so you can even download it with slow dial up internet.
September 16, 2005The official release date for the Xbox 360 in the United States of America is November 22, 2005. The fully loaded version which you will need to play on Xbox Live and play Xbox 1 games will cost $400, the cheaper package will be $300. You can buy the things you need for xbox live and the hard drive to play xbox 1 games separately but it will end up costing a lot more than if you got it all in the $400 version. I started updating my Console Wars site. I haven't updated it in a really long time and it needed it. I'll should be updating that one more in the future. I updated the pictures on the side on this page. I still have more work to do on those, like making them the right size and other small tweaks. I also have a few more of them to add as well. I've been busy with homework so haven't had much time to do it. I'll get around to it eventually though. If you are interested in improving your 1337 Halo 2 skillz you should check out Not So Common Sense by Overswarm. Even I improved my skills with this helpful videos. September 14, 2005I finally changed the logo on my xbox how-to sites to the LP. It was still the chicken, so are a bunch of my other sites. I'll get around to changing those soon. I also worked on some of the logos that will be on the right side soon. There is going to be another MegaLAN at Luther College on September 30 from 7 pm to 7 am. There will be a lot of Counter-Strike: Source, Unreal Tournament 2004, and Halo 2 going on. I'll be pwning it up as usual. September 8, 2005I worked on the images on the left side a little bit. I also touched up the logo at the top and some other little things. For those of you without Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint) there is a nice free program you can download that is basically the same. Open Office is open source and you can download it free, it can even use the same file types and save the same file types as the Microsoft version. There are versions for just about every operating system too. September 3, 2005Mountain Dew Pitch Black II turns your poop green. August 25, 2005I got a new keyboard. It is a Logitech Media Keyboard Elite. It is really nice. It is black with a ton of extra buttons for media players and just about everything you can think of, fully customizable too. The perfect flat 0 degree tilt is really comfortable and a must have for me. Before I had a wireless logitech that was using infrared. Other remotes were causing problems with that though. They seemed to share some of the same signals. I just finished watching The Codex. It is a action movies series made using Halo 2. It was really good. The video quality of the first few movies isn't that great but it gets a lot better towards the middle and excellent at the end. From all of the Halo 2 video series I've seen this is my favorite.
August 24, 2005I finally made this into my main page. I also added an archive and finished up the top middle logo. I'll probably change the side logos when I come up with something good.
August 23, 2005I made some more side bar rollover pictures for this page. I added one for my console wars page and my cool movies page. I also redid the logo at the top of this page. Soon I'll be setting this as page as my main site. Since the main site now really doesn't have anything but links to my other sites, and this one has that now. They started selling Mountain Dew Pitch Black II. I stopped by at wal-mart and they had 5 12 packs of it. I bought them all. It is a little bit more sour than the original pitch black, there isn't a very big difference from before, it is still the best tasting fluid on the planet. Finally there is news on Shenmue 3. It is most likely going to come out for Xbox 360. They have it all done and just have to port it over, so we'll likely see the finally to the greatest single player game ever made sometime next year. August 15, 2005I made a new logo for my web site. I used lightwave and photoshop. It started out as a 3D "L" and "P" connected together into one symbol. Then I just went on from there to make it look sharp, then adjusted it from there to give it some balance. I have a bunch of different variations of colors and textures for it and might rotate them around on my main page. I'll probably integrate it into a bunch of art for my other sites too. I also added the links on the side for my Video Game Politics and The Ninja Life sites.
August 12, 2005I turned off mouse smoothing in Counter-Strike: Source. Now I can control my mouse again. I have acceleration off and my sensitivity set to 2.5. My resolution is set at 1280x1024. I use the same settings for Unreal Tournament 2004 with the additional option of reduce mouse lag on. August 11, 2005I turned the thing of the week page into teh blog. I changed the look, reorganized it and made it better and stuff.
