Here are a bunch of links to web sites I like or find useful.
News
Drudge Report This is a news web site that for the most part links to world and US news but also has some of its own. It includes a lot of serious stories but also a lot of bizarre ones. This site is updated constantly.
Game Politics This site gives news in the political world regarding video games. There are usually a couple updates throughout the day.
Entertainment
Video Game Voters Network This is an organization for gamers that want to be able to play games tomorrow. It contains resources for contacting politicians and information on the latest issues.
Kikizo Kikizo is an excellent video game news web site. They get a lot of exclusive stories and their reviews are right on. Unlike certain corrupt games sites they aren't on the Sony payroll.
Dr. McNinja A humorous online web comic about a Doctor who is also a ninja.
Halo
Bungie The makers of Halo and Halo 2. They have weekly updates on behind the scenes progress of game development and answer questions from fans.
HBO A huge Halo fan site. The site includes news, fan made movies, tips, walkthroughs, strategies, nearly everything you can think of regarding Halo on the internet.
Software
Opera The best web browser. It works on Windows, Mac and Linux and you can download it for free. It also has integrated irc and bit torrent downloading.
Sunbird Mozilla Sunbird is a free open source advanced calander application for your computer. You can even connect to it through the internet and set alarms.
Firefox Not quite as good as opera but still a great web browser. It is a free open source program that works with all operating systems and there are many extra plug ins you can add on to do just about anything.
Open Office This is a great alternative to Microsoft Office. While not quite as good it is open source and completely free. You can even use and save as word, powerpoint and excel files if that is what you have at school or work. They keep updating this and making it better so be sure to check back once and a while for updates.
Winamp The best music player for windows and it's free. It plays all music formats and has randomization that actually works. I recommend the MMD3 skin.
Media Player Classic MPC for short is a free media player that plays any videos. If you are having trouble playing a video you downloaded use MPC and it'll work. It is a great alternative to quick time and real player and quick time formats in full screen.
Gaim Gaim is a free open source all in one messenger. Instead of having icq, msn messenger, yahoo messenger and aim all running at once Gaim combines them into one advertisement free program. It includes support for all of the major messenging programs including many you probably haven't heard of.
This site is best viewed with Opera or Firefox web browsers.
